The 2024 Browning Briley/Texas State Championship was held April 16th - 21st at Greater Houston Sports Club in Houston, Texas.
The 2024 Browning Briley/Texas State Championship was held April 16th - 21st at Greater Houston Sports Club in Houston, Texas. The Texas Sporting Clays Association teamed up with Greater Houston to combine the renowned Browning Briley with the Texas State Sporting Clays Championship the third week of April. The event resulted in a grand success with both high attendance numbers and overall shooter experience as well as a plethora of positive feedback.
On Friday evening, the TSCA Hall of Fame Banquet was held on the grounds and Mark Tipton and Ed Arrighi were inducted into the TSCA Hall of Fame. Two very deserving individuals who have been involved in the game for many years, congrats to the both of them! The Main Event was shot over three courses, the Browning, the Briley, and the Westside Dry Wall. These three courses were shot by all competitors from Friday through Sunday and were very fairly set up for all shooters. This Main Event was heavily attended with 720 total shooters in attendance which was a phenomenal turn out.
Gebben Miles of Arizona wound up winning the Texas State Shoot Main Event with a sky high 195/200 in the Main Event. This stellar score by Gebben cleared the rest of the field by 6 targets. Zachary Kienbaum of Georgia was Runner Up with a 189/200 and Cory Kruse was Third also with a 189/200. Cory Kruse also won the Texas State Resident Champion Title with his 189/200. Karen Miles won the Ladies Main Event with a 184/200, Savanna Barks won Runner Up with a 179/200, and Madison Sharpe won Third with a 173/200. That's all from the Lone Star State.
